Details

Pachystegia insignis, commonly known as Marlborough Rock Daisy, is a distinctive New Zealand native shrub admired for its large leathery foliage and striking daisy-like flowers. Its broad grey-green leaves feature a thick felted underside, creating year-round texture and interest while providing a bold architectural presence in the landscape.

Throughout the flowering season, masses of white daisy flowers with bright yellow centres appear above the foliage, creating a stunning display that attracts pollinators and brightens garden spaces. Its naturally spreading habit makes it an excellent choice for rock gardens, coastal landscapes, dry banks, and native plantings.

Growing to approximately 50cm high and 60cm wide, Marlborough Rock Daisy thrives in full sun and is highly tolerant of exposed conditions, wind, and dry soils once established. Its hardy nature and low-maintenance requirements make it an ideal plant for challenging landscape environments.
