Details

Libertia Ixioides, commonly known as NZ Iris, is a hardy New Zealand native valued for its striking fan-shaped foliage and elegant seasonal flowers. Its stiff orange-green leaves provide year-round structure and texture, making it an excellent choice for modern landscapes, rock gardens, and mass planting schemes.

During spring, delicate white flowers emerge on stems held just below the foliage, creating a subtle yet attractive display. These are followed by decorative yellow seed pods that add further seasonal interest. Its compact growth habit and architectural form make it particularly effective when planted in groups or used as a border plant.

Growing to approximately 40cm high and 40cm wide, NZ Iris thrives in full sun to part shade and performs well in both dry and moist soils. Tolerant of coastal conditions and exposed sites, it is a reliable and low-maintenance choice for a wide range of landscape applications.
