Dicksonia squarrosa, commonly known as Wheki or NZ Tree Fern, is a striking New Zealand native tree fern valued for its graceful arching fronds and distinctive fibrous trunk. Over time, Wheki develops a slender trunk crowned with large, finely divided fronds that form a spreading canopy of rich green foliage. Reaching approximately 6m high and 3m wide at maturity, it provides dramatic vertical interest while creating a cool, sheltered environment beneath its fronds.

This evergreen fern thrives in moist to wet soils and performs best in part shade to full shade.
